The War Letters is inspired by the real collection of over a thousand love letters written between playwright Charlotte Purser's grandparents during World War II. The play uses these letters to tell not only the story of her grandparents' relationship, but to also delicately trace my grandmother's experience of late-stage Alzheimer's disease.

The War Letters dives into her grandmother's fractured mind, creating an otherworldly experience of memory where nothing is quite what it seems… until the words on the letters have

finally disappeared.
